It organizes Industrial visits for practical knowledge of students. It sponsors the staff members for higher studies and Research work. It has started ISA STUDENT CHAPTER to avail the benefits of advanced course material and information to upgrade the students to current trends and technologies in industry.
Instrumentation Engineering means the applications of measurement and control for Process equipments. Design of instruments and their applications are two inherent aspects in Instrumentation. Further, installation, commissioning and maintenance of Instrumentation systems are integral part of Instrumentation Engineering. Instrumentation Engineers are the lead persons for Automation and Control.
The competition due to globalization has resulted in better process control, optimum utilization of resources & higher level of automation in all industry sectors. The demand for automation is increasing day by day. To face these challenges, competent Instrumentation and control engineers are required. A highly interdisciplinary branch covers major aspects of chemical, Electronics, mechanical and electrical fundamentals.
Tools required for the automation e.g. DCS, PLC, SCADA, Sensors, Controllers are covered under the curriculum of Instrumentation Engineering. Instrumentation includes electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic instrumentation systems as well will be studied. Computerized controls are used at a very large scale in process industries, refineries, petrochemical industries and many more. Biomedical Instrumentation is also an important subject in instrumentation.
Vision :
- To create competent, employable instrumentation engineers with ethical values.

About Instrumentation Course:
Instrumentation engineering is the engineering specialization focused on the principle and operation of measuring and control instruments which are used in design and configuration of automated processes. A highly interdisciplinary branch- Instrumentation engineering covers major aspects of chemical, mechanical and electrical and electronics fundamentals. Instrumentation Engineering provides students with sound theoretical and practical knowledge and training in the operation and maintenance of automated process control and measurement instruments used in the production of various commodities.
Tools required for the automation e.g. DCS, PLC, SCADA, are covered under the curriculum of Instrumentation Engineering. This stream of engg. includes the detail study electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic instrumentation systems as well. Computerized controls are used at a very large scale in process industries, refineries, petrochemical industries and many more. Control and computing are essential features of any modern instrumentation and control system. Therefore Digital Signal Processing, embedded systems and Application Software Practices- MATLAB, Lab View are important areas for design and manufacturing of modern instruments and control systems. Biomedical Instrumentation is also an important subject in instrumentation. Growing requirement of control and computing has created a large space for “Research in Instrumentation”.
Career Opportunities :
Instrument engineers usually work for design and automation of process industries such as chemical, petrochemical, oil refineries or manufacturing plants-steel, cement, fertilizers, pharmaceutical, etc. with the goal of improving system productivity, reliability, safety, optimization and stability.
- Oil & gas engineering(Project,Maintenance,Sales & Marketing,Service etc.,)
- Bio-medical instruments (R&D, Installation and service, Sales & Marketing etc.,)
